How to use Lifting Straps
Share
Lifting straps are great accessories to help you maintain a strong grip on equipment. They are pretty simple to use, however we thought it worth giving some simple instructions, tips and things not to do, so you can all get the most out of them.
Fitting instructions:
Take a strap and feed the flat end through the loop at the other end leaving a loop large enough to feed your hand through. Do the same for the second strap, but feed the strap in the opposite side, so you have a mirror image of the first.
Feed your hand through each loop so the loop rests on the outside of your wrist, the crossed part of the strap sits on the inside of your wrist and the length of the strap runs down the direction of your thumb.
Hang the loose end of the strap over the opposite side of the equipment than you wish to wrap your fingers.
With your thumb, flick the strap end over the equipment.
Keeping the straps loose, flick a second and third time over the equipment and gently cover with your palm.
Gently wind the straps tight under your palm. Tighten the straps as far as you feel comfortable. They don't need to be tight, you just want to remove any slack from the straps. Holding the strap firmly will prevent the strap from slipping or unwiding.
You should now be locked in tight.
To dismount, just loosen your grip and gently pull away from the equipment.
